The Texas Bluebonnet Award
Every year a group of Texas librarians selects twenty books that are recommended for students in grades 3 - 6. Students are encouraged to read 5, or more, of the nominated books. In the later part of January, students who read 5, or more, books will be allowed to vote for their favorite. The author and illustrator of the nominated book receiving the most votes will be awarded the coveted Texas Bluebonnet Award.

If you are a student in grades 3 - 6 then you may participate! Simply read 5, or more, of the nominated books. When you finish a book click the Bluebonnet link on the library Home Page to fill out a Bluebonnet Google Form telling Ms. Dwight about the book you read. She will add your name to the Bluebonnet display in the library foyer.
Students who read 5, or more, of the nominated books will be invited to the Bluebonnet Voting Party.
5 students will be invited to participate in the 10th Annual Leander ISD Battle of the Bluebonnets in February. This friendly competition among all LISD elementary schools is a fun and exciting literary event!
