The Texas Bluebonnet Award
Every year a group of Texas librarians selects twenty books that are recommended for students in grades 3 - 6. Students are encouraged to read 5, or more, of the nominated books. In the later part of January, students who read 5, or more, books will be allowed to vote for their favorite. The author and illustrator of the nominated book receiving the most votes will be awarded the coveted Texas Bluebonnet Award.
