Libraries of Leander ISD Mission
Our mission is to lead our school communities by fostering literacy in an environment that challenges students to imagine possibilities, explore opportunities and connect with the future and the world.
Rutledge Library Mission Statement
In the library, we will read, lead, and grow with the 7 habits. We will be respectful by using the golden rule. We will be good digital citizens while using technology. As leaders, we will make the library a great place to learn and explore.

Mrs. Hervey's Mission
My goal is to foster a life long love of reading in our faculty and students, as well as building the understanding that there is a world of information at our fingertips, you just need to know where to look.
About Mrs. Uribe
I am so happy to be the librarian at Rutledge Elementary! I am Mrs. Uribe, and in case you are wondering how to say my name, it is pronounced oo-REE-bay. I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Texas in December of 2000, and I graduated with my Master’s of Library Science at my Alma Mater, UNT, in August of 2009. Prior to coming to Rutledge, I taught in various general education, ESL and bilingual settings from kindergarten through fifth grade. I've been teaching since 2001, and I've been here at the Rutledge library since 2008. It is such a joy to get kids excited about books and reading, and a pleasure to teach children how to use the information resources we have available through the library and to safely and effectively navigate the online world. Teaching is my passion, so I am truly a “Teacher-Librarian” and not simply a “Guardian of the Books.” I absolutely love what I do, so thank you for sharing your children with me!
